Rita Adkins

Rita Adkins serves as Second Vice Chair of the Dorchester County Democratic Party. A seasoned Realtor® and founder of The Adkins Group, she has nearly two decades of experience helping families and businesses in the Lowcountry achieve homeownership while promoting financial literacy and wealth-building. Recognized as a Multi-Million Dollar Producer and ranked among the top 500 Realtors in the Charleston market, Rita’s success is built on service, education, and trust.

A graduate of Goose Creek High School and Charleston Southern University, Rita is deeply rooted in her community. She partners with organizations like Dress for Success, Habitat for Humanity, and Jack and Jill of America, and actively serves through local schools, churches, and civic groups.

In 2024, Rita ran as the Democratic candidate for State Senate District 41, where she championed quality education, affordable housing, and the protection of women’s and children’s rights. A proud wife and mother of four daughters, she believes that strong families and strong communities go hand in hand—and she brings that vision to her leadership in DCDP.
