The Dorchester County Democratic Party (DCDP) is a grassroots organization committed to supporting Democratic candidates, strengthening community ties, and defending democracy. We provide a welcoming, inclusive environment where members can act on their values and connect with others. We believe that by working together, we can build a stronger, more just future for all.
Mission
DCDP is on a mission to drive progressive political change in Dorchester County by authentically connecting with the community, building robust organizational infrastructure, and empowering engaged citizens to act on shared values.

We believe in a rigorous public education system open to all.
We believe that high-quality health care is the right of all Americans.
We believe in a strong commitment to a military able to meet the country’s adversaries.
We believe workers should be paid a living wage and their right to unionize should not be abridged.

We believe that the long-term health, safety, and well-being of our veterans should be protected.
We believe in the rule of law and that all those who break the law must be held to account, regardless of wealth or status.
We believe all people, regardless of race, religion, age, ethnic origin, or sexual identification, deserve the full legal protection of the State.
We believe in a woman’s right to control her own reproductive freedom, without intrusion by the government.
We believe that public safety goes hand-in-hand with reduced gun violence and that safe communities depend on a strong bond between police and citizens..
We believe the right to vote must be actively encouraged, vigorously protected, and supported by fair districting practices that ensure equal representation for all – not manipulated to serve any one party’s advantage.
Initiatives

Voter Guidance
DCDP provides comprehensive Voter Guides and weekly email updates that help Dorchester County Democrats vote, volunteer, and donate with greater confidence and impact.
Neighborhood Groups
DCDP establishes and supports neighborhood-level political action support groups (aka “precinct groups”) that help members connect and engage in a small-group setting.
Candidate Recruitment
DCDP recruits, trains, and supports dynamic Democratic candidates who champion our cause at the local and state level.
Get Out the vote
DCDP rallies voters to get out the vote for Democratic candidates at all levels by making calls, sending postcards, knocking on doors, and hosting events.
Advocacy & Protest
DCDP monitors key trends and issues at the national, state, and local level and then coordinates with other aligned local groups to advocate for Democratic values via public comment, peaceful protest, and legal action.
Social Connection
DCDP helps Democrats in Dorchester County connect socially by hosting meetups and providing opportunities for working and playing together.
