Have you ever thought about running for office—or wondered how change really happens at the local level? The Dorchester County Democratic Party is actively recruiting candidates to run for office, and we’re here to help you every step of the way.
Starting in April, DCDP will offer candidate training designed to prepare first-time and returning candidates with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to run a strong campaign. You don’t need prior experience—just a commitment to your community and a willingness to lead.

We are holding a Candidate Interest Open House on Tuesday February 10th
The South Carolina Democratic Party has a Candidate Summit which will be held in Columbia:
Saturday, April 18
Location information will be provided to those who register. Check-in begins at 9 a.m.
This day-long event will better equip candidates, campaign staff, campaign volunteers, and county party leaders.
We will review campaign best practices and learn from experts in:
- Direct Mail
- Digital
- Messaging
- VoteBuilder
- Direct Voter Contact
Lunch will be Provided. There is a $15 registration fee.
