Gray Somerville

Gray Somerville serves as 1st Vice Chair of the Dorchester County Democratic Party, where he works to strengthen the party’s organization, communications, and capacity to help Democratic candidates and causes succeed across Dorchester County.

Gray previously served as DCDP’s Director of Communications, helping expand the party’s digital presence, improve its communications systems, and develop new ways to connect residents with opportunities to participate in local civic and political life. He believes strong local parties are built not simply around elections, but around lasting relationships, effective organizations, and meaningful opportunities for people to contribute to their communities.

Professionally, Gray is a serial technology entrepreneur and business executive with more than three decades of experience creating and building effective organizations, including Telogical Systems, LaunchPath Innovation, and R-Path Automation. His business experience has shaped his belief in practical problem-solving, careful stewardship of resources, and building organizations in which people with different perspectives can work together toward common goals.

Gray’s interest in public service is grounded in a broader concern for democratic institutions, effective government, economic opportunity, and the well-being of South Carolina families and communities. Besides his work with DCDP, Gray has volunteered as a founding mentor at the Harbor Entrepreneur Center, the founder and leader of a regional entrepreneur development program called “365 Days to Launch,” and board member of both the Summerville Chamber of Commerce Board and the Tri-County Cradle-to-Career Collaborative.

He and his wife, Debby, have lived in Summerville for over 20 years. They have two adult sons, a daughter-in-law, and are expecting their very first grandchild in January 2027.😍
