Jeni Atchley

Jeni Atchley serves as Treasurer of the Dorchester County Democratic Party. A veteran organizer, strategist, and activist, she has spent more than 14 years building grassroots campaigns, mentoring young leaders, and strengthening Democratic organizations at the local, state, and national level.

Raised in Ladson, Jeni earned her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Charleston Southern University, where she was active in College Democrats, Student Government, and the South Carolina Student Legislature. She went on to complete master’s degrees in Public Administration and Criminal Justice and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration.

Jeni has held nearly every leadership role within DCDP—including 3rd Vice Chair, 1st Vice Chair, and Chair—and has been honored with the Alice Cicenia Distinguished Service Award. She also served as President of the Young Democrats of South Carolina, leading the chapter to national recognition by the Young Democrats of America. A graduate of the Clyburn Fellowship, Emerge SC, and New Leaders Council, she has twice represented South Carolina as a Delegate to the Democratic National Convention.

In 2021, Jeni founded JGS Strategies, a political consulting firm that has supported dozens of candidates across South Carolina. She is passionate about empowering everyday people to run for office and believes that campaigns should connect deeply with communities to build lasting change.
