Lauren Singleton

Lauren Singleton serves as Third Vice Chair of the Dorchester County Democratic Party. She was born in Charleston and raised in Clubhouse USA, a historically African American community in Ravenel, SC. She attended Dorchester District Two schools and graduated from Ashley Ridge High School in 2015. She then attended Clemson University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in May 2019. That fall, she matriculated into the MD program at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), completing two years before stepping away for medical reasons.

Following her time at MUSC, Lauren relocated to Chicago, where she worked as an event planner specializing in business conferences. While she has always maintained an interest in politics, she formally began her organizing journey in Chicago during the 2024 election cycle by mobilizing neighbors around local policy issues. After returning home to Summerville, she joined the Dorchester County Democratic Party to deepen her engagement with formal political organizations.

Lauren’s goals as third vice chair include:

  1. Build and manage the Young Democrats team in Dorchester County
  2. Create outreach campaigns to increase young adult participation
  3. Leverage the technology that younger people have grown up with to mobilize and energize young voters
