Sara Geller

Sara Geller serves as Secretary of the Dorchester County Democratic Party. Sara has spent more than three decades fostering community, spirituality, and education through music and ritual leadership. She served as Hazzan (cantor) at B’nai Shalom of Olney in Maryland for eighteen years following previous positions at Temple Beth El in Swampscott, Massachusetts, and Ahavath Torah Congregation in Stoughton, Massachusetts.

Sara earned her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University in the social history of Western technology and her master’s degree in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University. Sara received her commission from the Cantors Assembly in 2002 and has served on its Executive Council. Currently, Sara sits on the Racial Justice Subcommittee and the Social Justice Commission of the Rabbinical Assembly.

Now living in Summerville, Sara brings her passion for community building and service to DCDP. She is committed to strengthening democratic participation, fostering inclusion, and ensuring that every voice in Dorchester County has the opportunity to be heard.
